Hithium helping Shandong Juancheng Power Source-Grid- Energy Storage Integration Demonstration Project to be officially connected to the grid
On May 15, 2023, the 100MW/200MWh energy storage power station in Juancheng, Shandong was successfully connected to the grid. The project is located in Juancheng County, Heze City, Shandong Province. It is the first centralized shared energy storage power station in Heze City to operate commercially, and also a demonstration project and a key provincial project for energy storage in Shandong Province.
The project is funded by China Resources Power Holdings Co., Ltd., with XJ Group Corporation providing a complete set of product solutions, and Xiamen Hithium Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as Hithium) providing energy storage battery clusters. It is a Power Source-Grid-Energy Storage Integration Demonstration Project of China Resources Power Holdings Co., Ltd. The installed capacity of the project is 100MW/200MWh, including a 99MW/198MWh LFP battery energy storage system and a 1MW/2MWh VRB energy storage system, with a 220KV booster station and a single-loop transmission line constructed.
According to industry experts, the new energy industry will enter a strategic turning point in 2023 in view of the national and global situation. With the increase in the proportion of new energy generation, the concept of “power source-energy storage”, a new mode of power operation with an overall planning of power source, grid and energy storage, has gradually become the focus of the industry. The integration of power source, grid and energy storage can solve the problems of new power system development, and can achieve the operation mode and technology of maximizing the use of energy resources. It will improve the power dynamic balance of the power system more economically, efficiently and safely through power source complementarity, power source-grid coordination, grid-load interaction, grid-energy storage interaction, power source-load interaction and other interactive forms, which is an important development path to build a new power system.
On the whole, the operation mode of “power source-energy storage integration” can give full play to the regulation capacity of the power generation side, promote accurate matching between supply and demand, and ensure reliable power supply.
Shandong Juancheng Power Source-Grid-Energy Storage Integration Project, after the commissioning, can further enhance the flexibility of the local power system, effectively participate in peak and frequency regulation of the power grid, promote the balance of power supply and demand, contribute to the enhancement of the local power grid’s new energy consumption capacity and the safe and stable operation of the power grid, and also accumulate experience for the construction of subsequent centralized energy storage projects in the region.
